Thunderbolt Academy will be dismissing at 12:15 PM today due to the ongoing police investigation. All other schools will operate as normal on a full day schedule.
District Staff and Families:
At approximately 9:00 AM it was reported to the district that gunshots were fired in the vicinity of one of our Thunderbolt Academy school buses. No one was harmed and police are actively investigating the matter.
Out of an abundance of caution, the district made the decision to place all schools in a Shelter in Place when the incident was reported. The Shelter in Place has since been lifted and teaching and learning is proceeding as normal in our school buildings. There is no direct threat to any of our schools at this time.
We will share more information as it becomes available.

Personal y familias del distrito:
Aproximadamente a las 9:00 a. m., se informó al distrito que se escucharon disparos en las inmediaciones de uno de nuestros autobuses escolares de Thunderbolt Academy. Nadie resultó herido y la policía está investigando activamente el asunto.
Por precaución, el distrito tomó la decisión de colocar todas las escuelas en un Refugio en el lugar cuando se informó el incidente. Desde entonces, se levantó el Refugio en el lugar y la enseñanza y el aprendizaje continúan normalmente en nuestros edificios escolares. No existe una amenaza directa para ninguna de nuestras escuelas en este momento.
